Get to know the Bundaberg Aquatic Centre team!
As Bundaberg Aquatic Centre prepares to open this spring, we’re thrilled to introduce you to some of our amazing team members: Caitlin, Carissa and Janae.
Caitlin, Carissa and Janae each bring a wealth of experience to Bundaberg Aquatic Centre from their diverse career backgrounds. With each member of the team having a strong community tie in the Bundaberg region, they’re passionate about creating a positive environment for all members and guests who will soon be a part of Bundaberg Aquatic Centre!
Meet Caitlin Hird – Venue Manager
Caitlin previously worked in the health and fitness industry as a Club Manager PCYC and she will be bringing a wealth of knowledge to Bundaberg Aquatic Centre, already a pro at connecting community to leisure.
“As Venue Manager I’ll be overseeing everything at Bundaberg Aquatic Centre,” says Caitlin.
“There’s a buzz of excitement at Bundaberg Aquatic Centre, and our team can’t wait for this brand-new facility, designed for community wellbeing, all-ability access, and competitive swimming, will deliver incredible opportunities for years to come.”
“I’m also excited to build quality connections with our members and their families, and to form strong relationships with local businesses. Whether you’re keen to swim laps, learn to swim, or build strength in an aquatic exercise class – Bundaberg Aquatic Centre has you covered!” says Caitlin.
Meet Carissa – Operations Coordinator
Carissa joins the team as Operations Coordinator. She will work with the team to oversee daily operations, safety and maintenance of our pools. Carissa comes from a background in legal work and case management but upon moving to Bundaberg, found herself back in the aquatics world and has loved the challenge ever since.
“I enjoy keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes and bringing a bit of order to the chaos,” says Carissa. “Whether it’s coordinating teams or streamlining processes, I’m all about making things work better for everyone.”
When asked what makes Bundaberg Aquatic Centre unique, Carissa says, “It’s a purpose-built facility with accessible features throughout the venue and state-of-the-art competition facilities, the centre will bring fantastic opportunities to the Bundaberg community no matter what your goals!”
Meet Janae – Aquatics Services Coordinator
Janae has spent seven years as a learn-to-swim instructor and swam competitively from childhood through to the state championships in her teens!
When Bundaberg Aquatic Centre opens, Janae can’t wait to see Bundaberg’s swimming students’ progress. “I love watching learn-to-swim students swimming journey. It’s so special to see their skills develop as students challenge themselves all the way up to squads.”
